Dover Acquires Cloeren to Expand Plastic Extrusion Portfolio

Dover Completes Acquisition of Cloeren, Bolstering MAAG's Plastic Extrusion Capabilities

ORANGE, Texas, United States August 25, 2026 Dover Corporation has completed its acquisition of Cloeren Incorporated, a manufacturer of high-performance, custom-designed extrusion T-dies and feedblocks for polymer and plastics applications, integrating the company into the MAAG business unit within Dover's Pumps & Process Solutions segment. The transaction represents a significant consolidation move within the global Plastic Market, which was valued at USD 599.82 billion in 2022 and is projected to reach USD 831.54 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 4.8%.

Cloeren, headquartered in Orange, Texas, maintains additional manufacturing facilities in Marshall, Texas; Eau Claire, Wisconsin; and Micheldorf, Austria a multi-location footprint that positions the combined entity to serve a broad international customer base across polymer processing applications. The company is widely recognized within the plastics industry for its technical engineering capabilities and an established blue-chip customer base.

The acquisition directly expands MAAG's existing portfolio of polymer processing equipment, enabling the business unit to offer customers a broader and more complete solution set across extrusion applications. Dover's strategic rationale centers on deepening MAAG's presence in mission-critical polymer processing equipment, a segment that continues to attract consolidation activity as manufacturers seek integrated, end-to-end processing capabilities.

"Cloeren is a strong strategic fit for MAAG and will further enhance our capabilities in extrusion applications," said Ueli Thuerig, President of MAAG. "The addition of Cloeren's technologies and engineering expertise expands our solutions offering and strengthens our ability to support customers with highly engineered, mission-critical equipment."

Key Highlights:

  • Strategic integration: Cloeren is incorporated into Dover's MAAG business unit within the Pumps & Process Solutions segment, expanding its polymer processing equipment portfolio.

  • Multi-location manufacturing footprint: Cloeren operates facilities across Orange, TX; Marshall, TX; Eau Claire, WI; and Micheldorf, Austria, providing broad geographic manufacturing coverage.

  • Complementary technology addition: Cloeren's extrusion T-dies and feedblocks add specialized, high-performance capabilities that complement MAAG's existing polymer processing solutions.

  • Blue-chip customer base: The acquisition brings an established, technically demanding customer base, reinforcing MAAG's position as a supplier of mission-critical equipment to leading plastics processors globally.

Analyst Insight:

According to analysts at Next Move Strategy Consulting, the Dover-Cloeren transaction reflects a broader consolidation trend within the global plastics processing equipment sector, where leading industrial conglomerates are acquiring specialized technology providers to build integrated, full-spectrum polymer processing platforms. NMSC analysts note that as the global plastic market advances toward its projected USD 831.54 billion valuation by 2030, demand for precision extrusion equipment particularly T-dies and feedblocks used in high-value film, sheet, and specialty polymer applications is expected to intensify, making technically differentiated assets such as Cloeren increasingly attractive acquisition targets for diversified industrial groups.

Industry Outlook:

The completion of Dover's acquisition of Cloeren signals continued strategic investment in the plastics processing equipment segment at a time when end-market demand across packaging, construction, automotive, and electrical and electronics applications is sustaining long-term growth in polymer consumption. As manufacturers face mounting pressure to improve processing efficiency, reduce material waste, and accommodate a growing range of bio-based and recycled feedstocks, the demand for advanced extrusion technologies is expected to remain structurally elevated. Consolidation among equipment suppliers is likely to accelerate as larger industrial platforms seek to offer customers comprehensive, application-specific solutions rather than point products a dynamic that will continue to reshape the competitive landscape of the global plastics processing equipment market through the forecast period.
