PARIS, France — May 18, 2026 — Eviden has unveiled ELIT AI, its next-generation radar signals sensor equipped with built-in sovereign artificial intelligence, strengthening the evolution of AI-powered electronic intelligence systems for modern defense operations.
Developed by Avantix, Eviden’s signals intelligence (SIGINT) division, ELIT AI is designed to detect, analyze, and identify increasingly sophisticated radar waveforms, including low probability of intercept (LPI) signals and adaptive radar emissions. The company confirmed that the platform has already secured an order from France’s DGA-MI, highlighting early institutional confidence in the technology.
The launch comes as defense agencies worldwide accelerate investments in electronic warfare and AI-enabled sensing platforms capable of supporting real-time tactical decision-making in complex operational environments.
ELIT AI combines adaptive software-defined radio technologies with sovereign AI capabilities developed entirely through Eviden’s in-house research and development efforts. The system is engineered to improve radar situational awareness while enabling rapid identification of emerging threat patterns.
According to analysts at Next Move Strategy Consulting, sovereign AI-enabled sensing systems are becoming increasingly important as governments seek greater control over mission-critical intelligence infrastructure and reduce dependence on external AI ecosystems.
The ELIT AI platform introduces several advanced operational capabilities, including:
Real-time tactical radar situational awareness
Detection of complex and stealth-oriented radar signals
Intelligent scanning and adaptive signal analysis
Enhanced sensitivity for extended detection range
Flexible deployment across multiple operational environments
Integrated recording and deferred intelligence analysis functions
Industry observers note that the integration of AI into SIGINT and ELINT platforms is reshaping modern battlefield intelligence, particularly as radar systems become more agile and difficult to intercept.
Bernard Payer, Director of Mission-Critical Systems at Eviden and President of Avantix, stated that the new system demonstrates the company’s ability to address emerging electromagnetic warfare challenges as radar technologies evolve toward more stealth-oriented architectures.
The platform also complements Avantix’s broader electronic intelligence ecosystem, including CARACAL for Sensors signal databases and OSCAR for advanced radar signal analysis, creating an integrated framework for end-to-end radar threat management.
Defense analysts believe the introduction of ELIT AI could accelerate adoption of autonomous sensing technologies across global military modernization programs. Growing geopolitical uncertainty and increasing investment in electronic warfare systems continue to drive demand for AI-enhanced radar intelligence capabilities.
As defense organizations prioritize secure and sovereign intelligence systems, ELIT AI represents a broader shift toward autonomous, adaptive, and highly resilient radar sensing infrastructure.
