Industry Insights from Next Move Strategy Consulting
As industries accelerate toward digital transformation and automation, Premio Inc. has introduced two new ARM-based computing platforms — the BCO-500-ROK and AIO-200-ROK — designed to redefine efficiency and resilience at the edge. These systems combine power-efficient AI processing, ruggedized reliability, and modular connectivity to empower next-generation industrial and IoT ecosystems. Premio’s BCO-500-ROK and AIO-200-ROK platforms are powered by the Rockchip RK3568J ARM SoC, engineered to deliver high performance with low power consumption. The compact, fanless design ensures operational stability in challenging environments, supporting deployments across smart cities, industrial automation, self-service kiosks, and embedded IoT systems.
Premio’s latest ARM-based platforms are built to meet the increasing demand for open-source Android and Linux-based applications transitioning toward on-device processing. “With growing demands for more open-source Android and Linux-based applications migrating to on-device processing in environments that need power-efficient computing performance, our entry into ARM-based (Rockchip) platforms combines our ruggedized design and industrial-grade reliability into our standardized product offerings,” said Dustin Seetoo, VP of Product Marketing at Premio Inc. “Engineers now have more flexibility at the edge with fanless systems that deliver reliable ARM-based compute, wireless connectivity, and OS versatility — all in compact footprints ready for Industry 4.0 integration and automation.” The new systems embody Premio’s commitment to delivering power-efficient performance, software flexibility, and rugged dependability for diverse industrial applications.
The BCO-500-ROK is a semi-rugged, fanless industrial computer optimized for low power consumption, open-source OS compatibility, and wide I/O support to simplify edge integration. It features a quad-core Rockchip RK3568J Arm Cortex-A55 SoC (1 TOPS), 4GB LPDDR4 memory, and 64GB eMMC storage, capable of withstanding harsh industrial environments with operating temperatures from -40°C to 70°C and shock and vibration resistance (50G and 5Grms). Equipped with dual GbE LAN, multiple COM ports (RS-232/422/485), a CAN Bus, and wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/4G LTE), the BCO-500-ROK delivers robust edge connectivity and flexibility. Certified with UL 61010, CE, and FCC, it is compatible with Android 13, Debian 11, and Ubuntu 22.04, offering engineers a reliable and scalable solution for Industry 4.0 and embedded AI applications.
Expanding its HMI portfolio, Premio’s AIO-200-ROK is an all-in-one ARM-based industrial touchscreen computer available in 10.1-inch and 15.6-inch display options. Designed for durability and user interaction, it features an IP65-rated front panel, 7H surface hardness, and IK07 impact resistance for protection in demanding environments. Powered by the same Rockchip RK3568J SoC, it delivers 4GB LPDDR4 memory, 64GB eMMC storage, and wireless support including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 4G/LTE. Operating within -20°C to 60°C, it offers a Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) of 50,000 hours, ensuring long-term reliability. With certifications such as UL 62368, CE, and FCC, and compatibility with Android 13, Debian 11, and Ubuntu 22.04, the AIO-200-ROK is built for SCADA panels, kiosks, and transportation hubs, enabling smooth interaction and real-time data visualization across industrial and commercial settings.
Both the BCO-500-ROK and AIO-200-ROK platforms integrate onboard CAN Bus for seamless communication with industrial and in-vehicle networks. Their modular wireless expansion capabilities, wide-temperature tolerance, and support for multiple operating systems make them ideal for dynamic edge computing environments. By combining energy-efficient ARM architecture with rugged engineering, Premio delivers systems that address the growing need for edge AI, embedded automation, and industrial IoT. The fanless design enhances operational stability and reduces maintenance, while OS versatility ensures scalability across open-source ecosystems. These systems represent a significant step toward enabling connected, intelligent, and autonomous infrastructure under the umbrella of Industry 4.0.
According to Next Move Strategy Consulting, the global Edge Computing Market is projected to grow significantly from around USD 2.49 billion in 2020 to approximately USD 68.71 billion by 2030, registering a robust CAGR of 33.1%. This growth is driven by the increasing need for faster data processing, reduced latency, bandwidth efficiency, enhanced security, and the ability to perform analytics and AI-driven decision-making closer to the data source. The firm highlights that edge computing enables real-time insights and greater operational efficiency by minimizing dependence on centralized cloud systems. North America currently dominates the market due to its strong IT infrastructure, rapid 5G adoption, and the presence of key technology players, while the Asia-Pacific region is expected to witness the fastest growth fueled by smart city initiatives, expanding 5G networks, and rising industrial investments in countries like India and China. Next Move Strategy Consulting segments the market based on components (hardware, software, and services), organization size, industry verticals, and geography, employing strategic tools such as SWOT and Porter’s Five Forces analysis to assess opportunities and challenges shaping the global edge computing landscape.
The BCO-500-ROK Series is available now, and the AIO-200-ROK Series will be released in Q4 2025, further strengthening Premio’s leadership in rugged edge and industrial computing. With over 35 years of innovation in edge AI and embedded solutions, Premio continues to empower industries with technologies that bridge performance, reliability, and scalability.
