According to the report by Next Move Strategy Consulting, the global Ultra Secure Smartphone Market size is predicted to reach USD 9.45 billion by 2030, with a CAGR of 18.4% from 2025 to 2030.

Samsung, a global leader in smartphones, is poised to achieve a significant milestone in India with its Galaxy A series, projecting to surpass 100-million-unit sales by December 2025. Fueled by the launch of the AI-powered Galaxy A17 5G, the company is capitalizing on its strong market position to redefine affordable innovation in the region.

Driving Growth with AI Innovation

Since its debut in 2019, the Galaxy A series has sold an estimated 96 million units in India as of June 2025, according to Raju Pullan, Senior Vice President of Samsung India’s MX Business. The introduction of the Galaxy A17 5G, the most affordable AI smartphone in the series, marks a strategic push to reach this ambitious sales target.

“The Galaxy A series is our largest smartphone portfolio, and with the A17 5G, we’re bringing AI to the masses,” said Pullan. “Our goal is to cross the 100 million sales mark by the end of 2025, driven by the festive season and growing demand for innovative devices.”

Key Features of the Galaxy A17 5G

The Galaxy A17 5G, priced between Rs 18,999 and Rs 23,499, introduces advanced AI capabilities and robust hardware to the mid-range segment:

  • AI-Powered Features: Includes "Circle to Search" with Google and Gemini Live for real-time visual AI conversations.

  • 50MP No-Shake Camera: Equipped with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) for superior photo and video quality.

  • Exynos 1330 Processor: Ensures smooth performance for multitasking and gaming.

  • 5000mAh Battery: Offers long-lasting power for all-day usage.

Festive Season to Fuel Momentum

Samsung anticipates the festive season, spanning 30-45 days, to contribute 22-25% of its annual business in India. Pullan highlighted the season’s critical role, stating, “The upcoming festive period will be pivotal in achieving our sales goals.” The company also expects double-digit growth in its flagship Fold and S series smartphones compared to last year’s festive season.

Samsung’s Strong Market Position

According to Counterpoint Research, Samsung held the second-largest smartphone market share in India in Q1 2025, both in terms of value and volume. Globally, the company led smartphone supplies with a 20% market share in the same period, underscoring its dominance in the industry.

A Milestone in India’s Smartphone Market

As India’s smartphone market continues to grow, Samsung’s Galaxy A series is setting a new benchmark for accessible innovation. With the A17 5G’s AI capabilities and the festive season’s momentum, the company is well-positioned to achieve its 100 million sales target, reinforcing its leadership in delivering cutting-edge technology to Indian consumers.
