XPENG, Antom Enhance Global EV Charging Payment Experience

Industry Insights from Next Move Strategy Consulting

XPENG, a global leader in intelligent electric vehicles (EVs), has partnered with Ant International’s Antom to transform the digital payment experience for EV charging. The collaboration, which officially launched in Hong Kong on February 9, integrates Antom’s tailored payment solutions directly into the XPENG APP, allowing users to start and stop charging and complete payments seamlessly.

A Strategic Step Toward Global EV Charging Integration

Antom becomes XPENG’s first global payment partner, supporting the EV maker’s international expansion. XPENG, in turn, is the first Chinese new-generation EV manufacturer to establish a global payment collaboration with Antom. This partnership leverages Ant International’s payments, global accounts, treasury management, and AI capabilities to deliver a scalable solution that simplifies the charging experience for new energy vehicle (NEV) owners.

Payment is a strategic capability for automakers’ charging platforms,” said Gary Liu, General Manager of Antom, Ant International. “By enabling frictionless, AI-driven payment experiences, we help EV manufacturers enhance service quality and operational efficiency globally.

Key Capabilities at a Glance:

  • Seamless In-App Payments: XPENG drivers in Hong Kong can scan QR codes or initiate and complete charging directly within the XPENG APP using AlipayHK. Credit card support will be available soon.

  • Global Payment Integration: Antom enables XPENG to integrate over 300 payment methods across more than 200 markets, supporting multi-currency transactions.

  • Regional Expansion: The partnership will extend to Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and other markets in 2026, incorporating local e-wallets like DANA, Touch ‘n Go, and TrueMoney.

  • Efficient Financial Management: Real-time reconciliation, treasury management, and AI-driven solutions optimize cross-border operations for XPENG’s global charging network.

Building a Seamless “Search · Locate · Charge · Pay” Experience

The services launched in Hong Kong cover over 1,600 public chargers through partnerships with Cornerstone Technologies and EV Power. XPENG users can now complete payments in-app, simplifying the charging journey. The global expansion aims to deliver a consistent, convenient experience for EV owners worldwide. Lawrence Li, General Manager of XPENG Overseas Charging, noted: “Our collaboration extends beyond payments. By leveraging Antom and Ant International’s global user reach, we aim to attract traffic to XPENG’s branded charging stations and foster broader cross-industry partnerships.

Scalable Growth and Global Leadership

XPENG has demonstrated rapid international growth, with 45,008 overseas deliveries in 2025 a 96% year-on-year increase and operations spanning 60 countries by year-end. Its global charging network, covering 31 countries with over 2.66 million charging piles as of January 1, 2026, reflects a significant scaling of infrastructure and services.

Next Move Strategy Consulting’s Viewpoint

According to the Next Move Strategy Consulting’s view, the XPENG–Antom collaboration exemplifies how Electric Vehicle Market makers are leveraging digital payments as a strategic lever for globalization. By integrating seamless payment systems into user-centric apps, automakers can not only enhance customer experience but also streamline cross-border operations, positioning themselves competitively in a rapidly evolving EV ecosystem.
