The Propylene Market excludes revenues and volumes associated with finished downstream products themselves (e.g., polypropylene resins, phenol, acetone, propylene glycol, acrylic fibers, ABS resins, coatings, adhesives, or finished packaging products) except where measured as propylene monomer consumption. The scope excludes ethylene, butadiene, benzene, methane, propane, and other petrochemical feedstock markets unless directly converted into propylene. Refining fuels such as LPG, gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and other petroleum products are excluded unless their production directly yields marketable propylene. Technologies, catalysts, equipment, engineering services, logistics services, storage infrastructure, and trading activities unrelated to propylene production or consumption are not included. Recycled plastics markets, recycled polypropylene markets, bio-based polymers not derived from propylene, and downstream fabricated goods such as automotive parts, medical devices, appliances, textiles, and construction products are excluded except for their associated propylene demand contribution. Research-scale, pilot-scale, and non-commercial propylene production activities are also excluded from market estimates.
