Mexico Travel Insurance MarketExclusion

What is left out of the market definition.

Exclusion

The market excludes insurance products that do not primarily provide protection against risks associated with a specific travel period or trip, including standalone life insurance, general health insurance, permanent disability insurance, homeowners or property insurance, and general personal liability policies where travel-related coverage cannot be separately identified. Domestic medical expenses covered under regular health insurance without a travel-specific policy are excluded, as are vehicle, aviation, marine, cargo, and commercial property insurance products. Cancellation or protection benefits embedded in credit cards, loyalty programs, airline tickets, hotel bookings, or other services are excluded where no separately identifiable travel insurance premium or insurance revenue exists. Non-insurance assistance services, travel booking fees, visa processing, medical assistance services, and standalone roadside assistance are also excluded unless they form part of an identifiable travel insurance policy. Policies covering risks unrelated to travel and informal or self-insured arrangements without an insurance contract are excluded from the market.
