Czech defense company Excalibur International, part of the CSG group, and Türkiye’s defense electronics leader Aselsan have signed a strategic agreement to create an EU-based joint venture while introducing the Korkut air defence system integrated on the Tatra Force 6×6 wheeled platform. The collaboration is aimed at enhancing joint defense capabilities for European and global markets.
The agreement represents a milestone in European defense cooperation, enabling technical collaboration in air defence, electronic warfare, smart munitions, and border security. As part of the initiative, production will be localized at CSG facilities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, ensuring the system meets European manufacturing and operational standards. A tangible outcome of the partnership is the deployment of the Korkut system on the Tatra Force 6×6 platform. Designed for both European and global clients, the integrated solution offers a fully capable alternative to existing European air defence systems. The Korkut system represents a modern and highly effective air defense solution, particularly against enemy UAVs,” says Miloš Šivara, CEO of Excalibur International. It employs highly accurate, programmable ammunition, meaning the cost to neutralize a single UAV is comparable to the UAV’s acquisition cost an efficiency that conventional missile-based systems cannot match.
Ahmet Akyol, General Manager of Aselsan, emphasizes the strategic benefits of the collaboration: Through this partnership with Excalibur International and the CSG group, Aselsan is expanding its industrial presence in Europe and globally, offering combat-ready air defence solutions tailored for European and allied forces. Akyol further highlights the advantages of the Tatra integration: By combining advanced sensors and fire-control technologies with a highly mobile and reliable platform, the Korkut system provides a flexible response for today’s dynamic battlefield environment.
According to Next Move Strategy Consulting’s view, the partnership aligns with the growing global demand for highly mobile, cost-efficient Air Defence System Market capable of countering unmanned aerial threats. The integration of Korkut on a proven Tatra platform positions the joint venture to capture strong interest in European and international markets while setting a benchmark for cost-effective and technologically advanced air defence solutions. As the modern battlefield evolves, the CSG–Aselsan collaboration demonstrates how strategic industrial partnerships can deliver highly capable and adaptable defense systems that meet both regional and global operational requirements.
