Durata Unveils Modular Data Centre for AI Growth

Industry Insights from Next Move Strategy Consulting

Durata Global has introduced a new modular data centre engineered to meet the surging requirements of artificial intelligence (AI), marking a significant advancement in the data centre market. The launch of AI:20 in London underscores the growing importance of scalable, prefabricated infrastructure capable of keeping pace with global AI adoption.

A Turnkey Solution for Accelerated Capacity

AI:20 is designed as a prefabricated and modular data centre, delivering up to 20 megawatts of compute power in a scalable configuration. By combining modular solutions from across its portfolio, Durata has created a data centre campus model that balances standardisation with adaptability.

Seventy-five percent of the system is pre-engineered for rapid deployment, while the remaining twenty-five percent is customisable. Options such as UPS systems and cooling technologies can be tailored to client-specific requirements. This approach enables a deployment timeline of just 12 to 15 months, significantly faster than conventional data centre construction.

Our solutions are designed to flex around clients’ business needs, empowering them rather than constraining them with a standardised solution,” explained Lewis Cobb, Head of Modular Data Centre Projects at Durata.

Strategic Manufacturing and Global Reach

Fabricated within Durata’s 80,000 sq ft facility in the North East of England, AI:20 modules are shipped globally through Teesside’s Freeport logistics network. This streamlined supply chain strengthens the company’s ability to accelerate global rollouts of critical digital infrastructure.

Durata Group CEO, John McGee, emphasised the product’s role in positioning the company at the forefront of critical infrastructure:

“AI:20 is a fully branded, ready-to-deploy solution that can be implemented in the most demanding environments. We are committed to delivering tailored solutions that empower clients to achieve their business goals without compromise.”

Regional Growth and Industry Timing

The launch coincides with government-backed plans for AI Growth Zones in North-East England, a development expected to attract billions in investment and strengthen the region’s reputation as a hub for innovation.

Durata recently expanded its footprint into the United States with offices in Atlanta, Georgia, reflecting its strategy to serve a growing international client base. With AI:20, the company aims to support AI and high-performance computing worldwide by offering scalable, rapid-to-deploy infrastructure solutions.

Next Move Strategy Consulting’s View

According to Next Move Strategy Consulting, this launch is poised to reshape the data center market by accelerating the availability of modular, AI-focused infrastructure. With demand for compute power surging globally, AI:20’s flexibility, speed, and scalability position it as a timely response to market needs.

By aligning modular design with AI-driven requirements, Durata Global reinforces its role as a key player in critical infrastructure development, contributing to the evolution of data centres as enablers of next-generation innovation.
