Myriota has announced the general availability of its HyperPulse 5G Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN), marking a significant development in global IoT connectivity. According to Myriota, HyperPulse delivers higher daily data allowances and lower latency, enabling organizations to track assets, collect operational insights, and make informed decisions beyond the reach of traditional terrestrial networks. The platform is built to support IoT use cases that demand reliable connectivity across vast geographies.
“With HyperPulse, we’re making 5G non-terrestrial connectivity a practical reality for IoT at scale,” said Ben Cade, CEO of Myriota. He added that the service enables organizations to operate effectively even in the most remote environments, with additional features planned for release next year.
The HyperPulse service became available on 15 December across Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. Customers participating in the Early Access Program are already connected, representing sectors such as environmental monitoring, oil and gas monitoring, asset tracking, and animal tracking.
Early adopters have highlighted the platform’s relevance for low-power and remote operations. Custodia, an engineering-driven IoT business based in Saudi Arabia, is integrating HyperPulse into its next-generation animal tracking solutions. The company stated that the technology will enable reliable satellite connectivity across remote regions, supporting wildlife conservation and livestock monitoring where connectivity was previously unavailable.
HyperPulse has been fully designed, built, and operated in Australia by Myriota. The network combines the company’s 5G NTN architecture with L-band satellite capacity leased from Viasat. Built on 3GPP 5G NTN standards, the platform uses Viasat’s satellite infrastructure to deliver standards-based non-terrestrial connectivity.
A key differentiator of HyperPulse is its optimisation layer, which Myriota says allows performance characteristics such as latency and data volume to be dynamically adjusted in response to customer demand or environmental conditions. This flexibility supports a wide range of IoT applications with varying performance requirements.
Complementing Myriota’s existing UltraLite™ service which prioritizes extreme energy efficiency, security, and spectrum efficiency HyperPulse focuses on delivering lower latency and higher data allowances. Together, the services expand Myriota’s IoT portfolio to address both ultra-low-power and data-intensive use cases.
The capabilities of HyperPulse support applications requiring richer sensing and more detailed reporting. These include asset tracking and monitoring for heavy equipment, containers, rail cars, and trailers; smart metering for utilities; environmental sensing for weather stations and soil, air, and water quality monitoring; and animal management solutions such as virtual fencing, feed optimization, and remote monitoring.
To support device compatibility, Myriota has certified Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF9151 module across multiple use cases, scenarios, and environments. Additional certifications for other suppliers are currently pending, reflecting the company’s intent to broaden ecosystem support.
Alongside the network launch, Myriota is introducing enablement products to assist its IoT partners in solution development and integration. The first of these offerings is the HyperPulse Developer Kit, designed to accelerate prototyping and proof-of-concept validation.
According to the company, the developer kit is built for field use and includes a weatherproof enclosure, battery operation, and multiple sensor and interface options. This approach is intended to reduce development complexity and speed up time-to-market for HyperPulse-based solutions.
