Cashew Nut Production — – Cashew Nut Production refers to the total quantity of cashew nuts harvested and produced within a country during a specified period, measured in tonnes. The indicator reflects the scale of cashew cultivation and agricultural output and is used to assess crop productivity, farming capacity, and the contribution of cashew production to the agricultural sector. The data presented by Our World in Data is based on statistics from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
Based on the validated data, Myanmar maintained a highly stable cashew nut production trend throughout the study period, with minimal fluctuations in annual output. Production recorded 1.59 thousand tonnes in 2015 and declined slightly to 1.44 thousand tonnes in 2016. Output recovered to 1.54 thousand tonnes in 2017 before remaining relatively consistent at 1.52 thousand tonnes in 2018. Production remained stable at 1.50 thousand tonnes in 2019, followed by 1.52 thousand tonnes in 2020 and 2021. Output continued at 1.51 thousand tonnes in 2022 and maintained nearly unchanged levels at 1.52 thousand tonnes in both 2023 and 2024. Overall, the dataset highlights Myanmar’s consistent cashew production capacity, demonstrating a stable agricultural base despite limited production expansion during the period. The dataset provides valuable insights into production stability, agricultural performance, and long-term sector development. It supports comparative analysis, benchmarking with regional producers, and future production forecasting. Farmers, policymakers, exporters, investors, researchers, and agricultural organizations can utilize the dataset to monitor production trends, assess industry stability, improve farming practices, strengthen supply chain planning, identify development opportunities, and support sustainable growth within Myanmar’s cashew nut production sector.
