OLATHE, United States October 7, 2026 Garmin Ltd. has launched two new flagship smartwatches the Enduro 4 and the Approach S72 expanding its sports-focused wearable portfolio with advanced GPS endurance capabilities and precision golf analytics. The product launches reinforce Garmin's competitive positioning within the global Smart Watch Market, which was valued at USD 43.51 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach USD 103.82 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 15.9% from 2025 to 2030, according to Next Move Strategy Consulting.
The Enduro 4 is Garmin's longest-lasting GPS smartwatch, offering up to 320 hours of battery life in activity mode under specified solar charging conditions. Designed for trail runners, multiday hikers, and endurance athletes, the device features a 1.4-inch MIP display with a solar lens, a titanium bezel, a fibre-reinforced polymer case, and a scratch-resistant Power Sapphire lens. It is rated to 10 ATM and includes 64GB of onboard storage for maps, music, and activity data.
Alongside the Enduro 4, Garmin introduced the Approach S72, its new flagship golf smartwatch, available in 43mm and 47mm configurations. The device features an AMOLED display, titanium bezel, and sapphire lens, and delivers on-wrist swing metrics including hand speed, backswing length, and wrist rotation. It also incorporates green-reading capabilities using green contour data, enabling golfers to assess putt direction and average slope percentage. Battery life extends to up to 20 hours in GPS mode or 16 days in smartwatch mode.
Both devices are available immediately, priced at £799.99 for the Enduro 4 and £699.99 for the Approach S72.
Enduro 4 Battery Performance: Delivers up to 320 hours of activity battery life with solar charging and up to 90 days in smartwatch mode, supported by preset power modes including Max Accuracy and Max Battery configurations.
Navigation Upgrade: The Enduro 4 features 50% more RAM and a new map engine delivering 30% faster panning, alongside a perspective view for enhanced terrain anticipation.
Approach S72 Golf Analytics: Introduces driving-range activity tracking, putting analytics (speed bias, direction bias, make rate), aerial imagery, and real-time biometric monitoring including heart rate data correlated to individual shots.
Dual-Purpose Design: The Approach S72 functions as an everyday smartwatch with a built-in speaker, microphone for calls and voice commands, and a multi-mode LED flashlight, extending its utility beyond the golf course.
According to analysts at Next Move Strategy Consulting, Garmin's dual launch of the Enduro 4 and Approach S72 reflects a deliberate strategy to capture high-value, performance-driven consumer segments at a time when the broader smartwatch market is navigating a period of shipment moderation. NMSC analysts note that product differentiation through specialized health, fitness, and sport-specific features rather than incremental hardware upgrades is increasingly the primary lever for premium pricing and brand loyalty in the wearable technology sector. Garmin's sustained focus on extended battery life, precision GPS, and niche-sport analytics positions it to maintain and potentially expand its market share as consumers prioritize functional depth over general-purpose connectivity.
The global smart watch market is on a sustained growth trajectory, underpinned by rising consumer demand for health and fitness tracking, the integration of AI and IoT capabilities, and expanding wearable technology adoption across healthcare and lifestyle segments. Garmin's October 2026 product launches signal that the premium and sport-focused tiers of the market remain highly active, with manufacturers investing in specialized functionality to command higher average selling prices and differentiate from mass-market competitors. As the market advances toward its projected USD 103.82 billion valuation by 2030, product innovation in areas such as solar-assisted endurance, advanced biometrics, and sport-specific analytics is expected to serve as a key growth catalyst across both established and emerging regional markets.
