VATICAN CITY, Holy See — May 29, 2026 — Following the initial diplomatic framework established last year, the strategic Renewable Energy agreement between the Holy See and Italy has formally entered into force. The historic binational accord paves the way for the construction of a massive agrivoltaic plant in the Vatican’s extraterritorial Santa Maria di Galeria area, marking a decisive shift toward sustainable state operations.
