Almond Production β Almond production refers to the annual output of almonds harvested within a country, measured in tonnes or metric tons. The indicator captures the quantity of almonds produced during a given year and provides a time series of national production levels. It reflects agricultural output from almond orchards intended for commercial, industrial, and agricultural use. Production statistics are compiled from international agricultural databases and official national reporting agencies, providing a standardized measure for comparing almond production across countries and over time.
Output recovered significantly thereafter, increasing to 19.446 thousand tonnes in 2018 and continuing upward to 21.411 thousand tonnes in 2019 and 31.202 thousand tonnes in 2020. Production remained relatively strong during the following years, reaching 27.896 thousand tonnes in 2021, 30.945 thousand tonnes in 2022, 28.262 thousand tonnes in 2023, and 29.482 thousand tonnes in 2024. The sharp fluctuations observed during the early part of the decade likely reflect changing weather conditions, variations in harvested area, and orchard productivity. Uzbekistan possesses favorable climatic conditions for almond cultivation, particularly in irrigated and semi-arid regions where fruit and nut production forms an important component of the agricultural sector. Government initiatives encouraging horticultural diversification, modernization of orchards, and export-oriented agriculture have supported improvements in production over recent years. Investments in irrigation infrastructure, improved planting material, and modern cultivation techniques have contributed to stronger productivity following the decline experienced in 2017. Although annual production continues to fluctuate because of climatic conditions and water availability, the recovery after 2017 demonstrates the resilience of the country's almond industry. Overall, Uzbekistan strengthened its almond production capacity during the latter half of the decade, with output stabilizing around 30 thousand tonnes. Continued technological improvements and efficient resource management are expected to support sustainable growth and enhance the country's position within regional almond production.
