As bakeries worldwide confront intensified pressure to lower energy usage and carbon emissions, GEA has launched its second-generation electric tunnel oven, the E Bake G2, setting a fresh standard for precision, efficiency, and eco-friendly baking.
The Bakery Processing Equipment sector previously used traditional ovens powered by gas have long constrained bakeries’ sustainability ambitions. GEA’s E Bake G2, optimized entirely for electric operation, delivers a decisive move away from fossil fuels—offering bakeries a tool to substantially reduce CO₂ emissions while maintaining high product standards.
Advanced baking performance through a small-scale airflow circuit in each module.
Enables precise micro-control of airflow and uniform heat flux to the product surface.
Delivers consistent baking conditions in every zone.
Ensures repeatable results and measurable improvements in key quality parameters such as texture, color, and moisture content.
Enhanced operational access with continuous access doors along the baking chamber.
Standard setup includes one door per module; optional setup allows up to three doors per module.
Reduced distance between maintenance points for easier servicing
Removable bottom plates in the baking chamber simplify cleaning and upkeep, minimizing downtime.
Modular, plug-and-play design for faster installation.
Each module comes preassembled with its electric cabinet mounted on top, reducing on-site wiring.
Installation time can be cut by up to 70% (based on a 90-meter electric oven with seven baking zones).
Features GEA’s innovative Kinetic Edge design for a modern, functional appearance.
Supports circular economy principles with a 64% reduction in iron used for the frame and baking chamber.
Fewer components and standardized, configurable modules.
Results in a lighter oven system, lower material consumption, and improved recyclability at end of life.
Marco Girimondo, Product Manager at GEA, stated, “Through our Voice of the Customer research, we identified a rising demand for sustainable baking technologies, especially electric baking. However, many customers are challenged by high energy tariffs and the substantial capital costs required for upgrading plant infrastructure. The E-Bake G2 is designed to tackle these issues by considerably cutting energy usage and lowering both installed power requirements and overall ownership costs compared to traditional electric ovens.”
GEA’s E Bake G2 represents a critical advancement in the baking sector—merging green energy use, precise control, modular scalability, and circular design principles. As bakeries pursue both sustainable operations and superior product quality, this new electric oven positions GEA at the forefront of industry innovation.
