“HumeLink is a major step forward in delivering the sustainable, affordable and reliable energy all Australians deserve,” said Redman. “Nation-building projects such as HumeLink are crucial to helping the Australian Government achieve its 2035 climate change target of a 62–70% reduction in emissions compared with 2005 levels.”

Transgrid also confirmed that agreements have been finalised with 98.9% of private landholders involved in the HumeLink project, marking a significant milestone in its development.

The HumeLink project is being designed and built in two sections: HumeLink East, delivered by the ACCIONA and GenusPlus Group Joint Venture, and HumeLink West, undertaken by the UGL and CPB Contractors Joint Venture.

To support the workforce, temporary accommodation camps will be established at Adjungbilly, Kunama, Tarcutta, and Yass, providing facilities for up to 1,200 workers during the construction phase.
