MUMBAI, India — June 22, 2026 — As India accelerates its clean energy transition, the landscape is shifting from pure generation to critical grid connectivity. In a major consolidation move, Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited (WRTL) has completed the acquisition of a 55% stake in Associated Power Structures Private Limited (APSPL) for ₹1,225 crore.
The strategic buyout positions WRTL, the solar engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) arm of Waaree Energies, directly within the power transmission segment.
With large-scale solar and wind projects scaling up across the country, developers are running into critical bottlenecks regarding power evacuation and grid synchronization. This transaction bridges that specific gap by adding massive industrial fabrication capabilities under the Waaree ecosystem.
"The completion of the APSPL acquisition marks a defining milestone in WRTL's growth journey," stated Viren Doshi, Director of Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited. "This investment reflects our confidence in the long-term opportunities emerging from India's energy transition and our commitment to building an integrated Renewable Energy and infrastructure platform."
Tower EPC Expertise: APSPL brings nearly 30 years of experience in the engineering, fabrication, and construction of galvanized transmission and telecom towers.
Turnkey Wind and Power Erection: Deepens execution capabilities in high-voltage transmission lines and windmill structural installations nationwide.
The 'Waaree 2.0' Shift: Transforms the parent group from a manufacturing-heavy organization into a vertically integrated, end-to-end green energy platform.
Industry experts view this massive consolidation as a natural maturity sign for the wider regional market. As projects balloon in capacity, the ability to build and control the actual transmission lines becomes a prime competitive advantage.
"According to NMSC analysts, the domestic clean energy ecosystem is undergoing a fundamental structural pivot," notes an industry researcher at Next Move Strategy Consulting. "Our market data shows that capital investment is rapidly diverting toward grid resilience and evacuation infrastructure, moving away from a siloed focus on pure power generation asset deployment."
By consolidating these technical capabilities, WRTL can now bypass external supply chain delays associated with grid-interconnection networks, offering utilities a single point of execution.
