It is usually made up of a combined key' and 'block' assembly that plugs into the USB port. Administrators simply need to plug the 'keyblock' into the port and release the latch, so that the block remains in port, blocking it from any external connection. In order to remove, user should plug the key back into the block.

USB blocking software is used by companies to prevent its employees from copying sensitive information from the office systems, for their professional or personal gain. Such software usually has the feature of USB whitelisting, wherein all devices except the ones included in the list are blocked. Additionally, when a new device is connected to the system, it notifies the administrator in order to prevent the data theft. USB blocking software is available for all type of OS, such as windows, MAC & android.
